The Spotted Flycatcher is widespread throughout Europe and Western Asia. It is a migratory bird that winters in tropical Africa.
In Ukraine, it is a common breeding bird found throughout the country. It can be found in a sparse forest or near meadows, parks, gardens, settlements, and large cities.
It feeds on flying insects, hunts from open perches, and often returns to the same perch.
