Tufted duck

They are common in Europe and Asia, as well as in North America. Winter in Western and Southern Europe, East Africa and South Asia.
In Ukraine, it nests mainly in the northern and western regions of the country. The largest concentrations of tufted ducks can be found in the Danube Delta region. Also occurs in winter in other wetland habitats, including the Dnieper River and its tributaries, as well as the Black Sea coast. For nesting, it prefers large wetland habitats of fresh water: large lakes, reservoirs, ponds, slow-flowing rivers.
Tufted ducks mainly feed by diving. They eat snails and other molluscs, aquatic insects, some plant matter and seeds.
